Oxford, with its world famous university and international population, seemed like a natural place to promote the values and aims of New Europeans.
So we officially launched what was the first regional branch of New Europeans at the end of September 2015 with an event on "My European citizenship rights...and why I don't want to lose them".
The group is managed by our Oxford Action Team: Ruvi Ziegler, Katharina Lawall, and branch coordinator, Theo Paraskevopoulos.
Drawing on a meetup group of more than 140 members, and with the support of the European Studies Centre at St Antony's College and Grow Create, we regularly organise events and debates on topics of European interest.
In our third event with Laura Wiesböck and Dr Martin Ruhs we focused on migration and inner-European mobility, topics which are said to be the ones with the biggest impact on the EU referendum on 23 June 2016. We are already planning our next event in May 2016 on the campaigns around the referendum.
