This is a very important event for the Italian Community to elect the COMITES (acronym for Committees of Italians living abroad) which play a key role in representing the Itlaian community around the world including the Italilan community in London and the UK.
New Europeans is hounoured to be taking part of the event at the invitation of the COMITES.
During the afternoon, New Europeans will present an information seminar with Kay Foxall of the Southwark Law Centre to discuss the legal status of Italian citizens in the UK after Brexit.
After the seminar, the COMITES elections will take place. Members of COMITES are elected on the basis of lists of candidates signed by Italians residing in each consular district.
Italians over 18 residing abroad registered in the electoral lists may vote by post (according to the system laid down by Law 459 of 2001), without having to go personally to the polling station, as was the case in the past.
