Lerwick is the main port of Shetland Islands, Scotland. It is centred 123 miles off the north coast of the Scottish mainland and on the east coast of the Shetland Mainland.

There are more than 200,000 people in Scotland who are nationals of other EU member states. Many of them are concerned about what will happen after Brexit.

This project provides basic advice and information for EU citizens in Scotland.

We have produced an information factsheet, which is being produced in a number of European languages.

We’ve already held information days – public consultation and awareness events – in a number of cities in Scotland – Aberdeen, Edinburgh, Glasgow and Inverness. We’re now organising a second series of events.

Further details and registration forms for each of the events can be found here, together with details of how to book places.

Places are free. You don’t have to register in advance, but places are limited, and you can make sure of a place by booking in advance,

See the link for the Livingston event of how you can join in.

Each event features expert speakers followed by a Question and Answer session.

The panel of speakers at each event includes legal, civic society, and EU policy experts.

As well as the panel session, information leaflets from the European Commission, advice agencies, and citizens’ rights groups are available to take away.

You can find out more about our future plans on this website, and also on twitter @NewEuropeansSc and our Facebook Page

The project is being run for the Citizens’ Rights Project by Public Policy Events in association with New Europeans Scotland, Migrants Scotland, Edinburgh & Lothians Regional Equality Council, Polish Cultural Festival Association, and the Centre for Scottish Public Policy.
