It has been 17 months since the EU Referendum. Whichever way you voted, you will no doubt agree that Brexit is proving to be a difficult task, a lot harder than initially anticipated.
Only very recently has the Prime Minister has completed her first 'hurdle' and it looks like there is finally some progress in relation to the Brexit Divorce Bill, Irish border and the situation on Europeans living the UK. Many have welcomed these recent developments but there are still areas of uncertainty.
New Europeans (NE), is a vibrant and proactive network founded by Roger Casale, former MP, which supports Europeans living in the UK as well as many British nationals living elsewhere in Europe. NE provides an important platform for EU citizens and enables us to have a strong voice which is often lacking in the Brexit debate. New Europeans works with other similar organisations which enhances our collaboration and partnership working.
New Europeans are inviting European citizens living in Welwyn Hatfield for a meeting with
Participants will have an opportunity to ask questions regarding UK's position on e.g. securing the rights of EU nationals in this Q&A style event.
Organiser Michal Siewniak, Regional Coordinator for New Europeans in East of England:
New Europeans do a huge amount of work here in the UK as well as in Europe to highlight some of these issues and challenges. In partnership with other similarly minded organisations, we are trying to use every opportunity to make our voices heard. It is very important, particularly now when many fantastic EU citizens living in Britain are still portrayed in a negative light. We hope that our meeting will be an opportunity to raise our concerns and continue dialogue with our leading politicians.
