Dr Hannah White is a writer and campaigner with a PhD in social policy from the University of Bristol and over 15 years experience researching identity politics.

She is currently investigating what it means to be European by bike and has cycled from Roscoff to Geneva, Rome to Athens, Belfast to Dublin and Strasbourg to Berlin, with other tours planned this year in the UK, Eastern Europe and Russia.

The words and photographs on her blog describe her travels, but in many ways Outsider is more than this.

It is a journey towards greater understanding of Europe now, of its people and their circumstances as well as the political processes, which govern us.
