Ten European cities pledge to take in refugee children


Politico reports that European cities have pledged to take in a few thousand unaccompanied minors from Greek refugee camps.

In a letter to von der Leyen, Michel and Sassoli, 10 big European cities, including Amsterdam, Nuremberg and Barcelona, say they “are ready to receive them,” adding that “each of our cities pledges to accommodate a fair share.”

It’s something EU governments so far haven’t been able to do, with the exception of Luxembourg and Germany, which both took in a few children.
