Our new report looks at the third sector’s preparedness to support Europeans, EEA/ Swiss nationals and their family members to access the EU settlement scheme (EUSS).
The report examines firstly why this issue should be of concern to the third sector and then looks at the findings of a recent survey of the third sector carried out by New Europeans. The report concludes with preliminary recommendations for coordinating an effective response to the settlement scheme.
This report argues that there is a low level of awareness and understanding of the EU Settlement scheme among the third sector beyond specialist migration and advice groups; and that the wider sector sees the scheme as ‘not our problem’. However, the potential human impact and fallout from will be long term, and may impact society as a whole.
