Dear New Europeans,
I would like to offer our sincere congratulations on behalf of Europeanists (Europeístas) to all the great people who make up New Europeans for being recipients of the 2019 Schwarzkopf Europe Award.
When you think of selfless enthusiastic people working together for a better Europe, fighting for the rights and the well-being of their fellow citizens, it is almost magical.
For this reason we are especially proud of having met New Europeans in this common path, and to share some initiatives such as the #EUDayInitiative for making Europe Day a holiday in the whole EU as a symbol of our union, and which in less than one year has received much public support and even the approval of the European Parliament, although there is still a long way ahead.
Organisations like New Europeans are not only helpful but also vital to mobilise and inspire European citizens, especially when they would feel otherwise lost or helpless, as it the case of EU citizens currently resident in the UK and British citizens currently resident in the EU. That’s why we are very glad to hear that their #EUGreenCard initiative has been awarded this prize and we, Europeanists, will be present at the award ceremony as a sign of our support.
We look forward to many more causes where we can be useful working together.
