An exciting opportunity for an experienced project officer wishing to work with one of the most pressing issues for Europeans living in the UK today.
The EU Settlement Scheme (EUSS) is a new registration scheme organised by the Home Office, which guarantees the rights of all EU mobile citizens living in the UK under EU rights, after June 2021. Nationwide, over three million people will need to obtain this status and some groups will find it more challenging than others to get the right advice and support around how to proceed with these applications.
New Europeans as a group has worked closely with a range of European citizens over the last six years. As part of a newly formed partnership with the AIRE Centre, New Europeans is now launching a work programme to deliver support and advice to vulnerable EU citizens living in parts of England who will need to engage with the European Union Settlement Scheme (EUSS).
To progress this work we are recruiting an EUSS project officer. The role will be responsible for organising a series of events and workshops, to ensure people understand the Settled Status scheme, to help them identify what is needed to apply, and assist some people with applying to the scheme. The successful candidate will be an experienced project officer from a migrants’ rights background , preferably OISC registered, who will use their knowledge of immigration law and passion for human rights to ensure we reach as many people as possible with the right advice and information about the EUSS.
Please apply with a letter (no more than 2 pages A4) setting out you motivation and CV to firstname.lastname@example.org by the 29th May. Interviews will be held on the 6th June.
