Thousands of Brits Abroad may lose their vote

Don't lose your vote!

Many UK citizens who registered to vote in the referendum last year will not be on the register for the General election if they have not renewed their registration this year.

In some (but by no means all cases) the deadline for returned the renewal letter has been extended to 31 May. It will depend on the date when you received your renewal letter as to whether you are given an extended deadline.

New applications must be received by no later than 22 May (one minute to midnight).

If in doubt, please contact your Electoral Registration Officer (ERO).

Just call the local authority main reception where you were last registered and ask to speak to the ERO.

If you do need to register, it's just a question of a simple online form.
