Your voice is our voice. Your rights are our rights. Together we will be heard. Together we will win."
New Europeans team members Tamara Flanagan OBE (third from left) Prof.Emmy van Deurzen (second from left) and Phil Cooper (first left) also attended the reception (shown below).
#RightToStay was up against three other fantastic campaigns, the Junior Doctors campaign, Childfare campaign and the SportsDirect campaign. It was a wonderful evening spent with all the nominees, and other award winners in a real spirit of collaboration and commitment to the common good.

We were delighted that our partners CitizensUK won the Social Justice award for their safe routes campaign. We know that many of our members have supported the Safe Passage campaign to bring unaccompanied refugee children and vulnerable adults to the UK under the Dubs amendment.
There was also a lifetime achievement award for Margaret Aspinall, chairman of the Hillsborough Family Support Group, which has campaigned tirelessly for justice since the Hillsborough Disaster in 1989.
We are very proud to be in the company of such brilliant campaigns and passionate, committed defenders of human rights and social justice and very grateful to all those who voted for #RightToStay to win the People's Choice Award 2017. The Sheila McKechnie Foundation (SMK) was established in 2005 to help develop a new generation of campaigners who are tackling the root causes of injustice. Set up in memory of Dame Sheila McKechnie. SMK is entirely dedicated to helping campaigners create positive and lasting social change.
