New Europeans and the3million have formed a working relationship to campaign for the preservation of the rights of EU citizens in the UK following Brexit.
Speaking after a meeting on Sunday to launch the new partnership, Nicolas Hatton, founding chair of the3million, commented
"We are very excited to be working with New Europeans and we believe this is very good news for all EU Citizens living in the UK.
Ahead of our first major campaign to gain the support of all MPs to preserve our rights, we welcome the additional experience, scope and reputation that New Europeans bring to our cause.
As a Bristol resident, I am also very much looking forward to our first joint event for EU citizens on 27 October at the City Hall, in the presence of Bristol Mayor Marvin Rees."
New Europeans was set up in 2013 to campaign for the rights of EU citizens (EU nationals in the UK and Brits in the EU) including voting rights, rights to non-discrimination and freedom of movement rights in the host member states where they reside.
Since 24 June 2016, New Europeans has been working with the UK parliament, Brussels institutions, Scottish, Welsh and other regional assemblies to secure the rights of EU citizens post Brexit.
