Regional Coordinator North East
Dr. Russell Foster is an academic researcher on European Union politics, and has studied and worked at universities across Britain and Europe. His academic experience on EU politics and European identities is the foundation of his ongoing research with policymakers at the EU.
“The north-east was built through centuries of cooperation with Europe, and it is essential that we continue to work with the continent. New Europeans provides a lively and engaging forum for the people of the north-east, who are so frequently ignored in political discussions, to have their say and connect with like-minded people, across Britain and Europe, who want to continue the cooperation which has advanced our region so much.”
Russell was born and grew up in Sunderland, experiencing its transformation from a forgotten industrial relic to a thriving twenty-first century city, thanks to European Union investment and trade with the common market.
