Martha is a human rights lawyer specialising in international law and international human rights.

Until recently, she was Vice-President of the Women's International League for Peace and Freedom.
For 13 years, Martha was the WILPF representative to the European Women's Lobby and ended her time there as an elected Vice-President
Martha lived in Germany for many years and sent her children to a bi-lingual school in Berlin, where she also served as the equivalent of a school governor.
