Else Kvist

External communications advisor

Else Kvist is a freelance journalist, who works across print, web, and video to tell local, national and international stories.

She also works as a researcher/producer for national Danish TV (DR and TV 2 News) when they broadcast from the UK, as well as being involved with film and documentary projects.

After 27 years in the UK, and originally from Denmark, she is able to draw on both her experience of working and living in the UK, as well as her international background in her work.

Else had seven years of experience as a journalist on two local newspapers in East London before going freelance.

She was taken on as a trainee reporter on the Newham Recorder after doing work experience and freelancing for the weekly paper.

Following a two-year training scheme she was promoted to senior reporter before transferring to its sister paper, the award-winning East London Advertiser.

After the news teams for the two papers merged she wrote for both publications.

During her time covering some of London's most culturally diverse and busy news patches, she reported on everything from local politics, business, high streets, schools, and health to crime and accidents.

Else also loves going behind the scenes of unique places and exploring complex issues for more in depth features and story telling.
