Dorka Bauer is a final year Politics and International Studies student at the University of Warwick.
"By being part of New Europeans it is possible to engage people in the discussion of European politics, which entails a greater understanding of the importance of the institution.”
This is why she believes that it is her duty as a European citizen to actively participate in the debates of the EU, as they determine most of the aspects of our lives.
Dorka has special interests in environmental politics. She has been working for the Climate Reality Project as a summer intern and as a Climate Leader.
This role enabled her to visit different schools and teach kids about climate change and its consequences.
She thinks the European Union has an important example-setting role in environmental politics. The goals of the institution are far-reaching and ambitious.
However, she further believes that most of the debates in the EU including under discussed within society as a whole. This is the case even in relation to matters like climate change, which have a huge impact on everyone’s lives.
